Human-made
White Arkitekter
The Company
White Arkitekter is one of Scandinavia’s leading architecture firms, with a strong position in sustainable architecture, urban development and social impact. The challenge was to create a digital concept for an outdated website, making White’s expertise, projects and sustainability leadership clearer, more human and easier to navigate.
Background
White’s current website does not fully reflect the position the company has already built. Its projects, sustainability expertise and architectural quality are strong, but the digital experience feels fragmented and does not communicate this with enough clarity. Early in the process, sustainable web solutions were explored, but the key insight was that sustainability online should be a hygiene factor, not the main story. Instead, the concept shifted toward the human value of architecture. In an AI-driven era, White’s strength lies not only in what they create, but in how they create it: by interpreting places, needs, culture and future ways of living.
Solution
The idea is to reposition White’s website around the human intelligence behind architecture. Early strategic routes explored regenerative value, PR potential, high-tech innovation and low-tech digital sustainability. These evolved into three themes: AI and the future, sustainability and circularity, and democratic/social architecture. Together, they showed that White’s strongest digital position is not technology alone, but human judgement, craft and collaboration.
The concept comes to life by showing the people, process and thinking behind the work. Instead of only presenting finished buildings, the website reveals how decisions are made, how sustainability becomes concrete choices, and how architecture is shaped with clients, users and communities. Human-made brings dialogue and participation, makes sustainability clear and practical and adds warmth and credibility. In an AI-driven landscape of generic output, White stands out by showing what only people can do.
