The Nordic Ecommerce Internationalization Guide
Orange Juice & Business Sweden
The Company
Orange Juice is a finance-connected growth agency working with Nordic DTC brands. Business Sweden is the official Swedish trade and invest council, helping Swedish companies grow globally. Together, they identified a gap, Nordic brands keep underestimating how different foreign markets really are. Our project was to close that gap with an operational guide for entering the US, UK and Germany.
Background
Nordic DTC brands are increasingly looking abroad, but most expansions fail, not because the home product is wrong, but because brands treat international launches as a commercial rollout rather than a structural adaptation. CAC, LTV, returns culture, payment behaviour and trust signals all shift the moment you cross a border. The playbook that works in the Nordics rarely works abroad, and the difference is operational, not strategic. Brands don't need more ambition, they need better calibration.
Solution
We developed The Nordic Ecommerce Internationalization Guide, an operational handbook for Nordic DTC brands entering the US, UK and Germany. Rather than generic market overviews, it diagnoses what is structurally different in each market and translates it into concrete decisions, pricing, fulfilment, payment methods, channel mix, returns and cohort economics.
Each market chapter lands on a core operating principle, the US tests whether your business model holds under simultaneous pressure, the UK rewards verification, Germany rewards patience. The guide is a starting point for deeper conversations between Orange Juice, Business Sweden and the brands they support.
